New Year's Eve at Himayat Sagar lake

Himayat sagar lake is located in the South west outskirt of Hyderabad city. Based on my internet search it is an artificial lake, built by Nizam of Hyderabad - Nizam VII and it was named after his youngest son Himayat Ali Khan, it is one of the main sources of drinking water supplies for the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. If you want to know more about this lake please check here Himayat Sagar lake details.

I often been to Osman sagar lake which is few miles from Himayat sagar lake, but i never visit this lake before. Me and my friends who are staying back at University campus for winter vocation decided to spent our precious time for New Year's Eve 2014 at this lake. As it is a new place for us we are not much aware of the distance and GPS was so helpful for tracing the route. From our University campus in Gachibowli we took around 40 minutes to reach the a main entrance of the lake.It was really a nice place especially for spending New Year's Eve. The gate keeper told us the gate in the other end was under repair and we were not permitted to run through the lake's earth-filled road so we left our motor cycles near the main gates. But it was nice to spent time with walk, we can have better time for viewing the lakes and its beautiful handy works. We really enjoy it.

One thing that gave me good impression was that as we walked through the lake i found old aged couple, their age must be not less than 75 years, sitting closed, talking each other, i really liked their idea to spent such evening on that lake. Though i didn't spoke to them but i think they know the right place to spend evening time, hope they were not regretted. As i said Himayat sagar lake is constructed for drinking water purpose we didn't found any entertainment offers like boating, fishing or skying etc. but if you are nature lover and want to spent quite moment out of noisy and polluted Hyderabad urban areas, I strongly recommended Himayat sagar lake for spending evening time. For those who have limited time or less budget also it is more convenient than other expensive or farther places.

The time we spent at Himayat sagar lake on the last day of 2014 (31st December) must be remembered in my lifetime, it was priceless for me. Thank to all my juniors and friends who are dear to me, i am so thankful for being a part of the trip on such special day of New Year's Eve 2014. So, let me say Good bye to 2014 by showing the below pictures that we took on Himayat Sagar lake.
